Education
Bachelors of Science, Lipscomb University, 2006
My Story
In 2005, I earned a bachelor of science degree from Lipscomb University in Engineering Mechanics. Post graduation, I went on to work for a local R&D firm outside of Nashville, Dynamic Structures and Materials (DSM). After 3 years of engineering, God opened a new and exciting opportunity for me. In the summer of 2008, I returned to Lipscomb to serve as their Student Missions Coordinator.
My Passion
Over the past few years I developed one of the greatest passions of my life: engineering and missions. I took my first “engineering mission trip” to Honduras during the spring of 2004. It was during this trip that I and my fellow peers came to realize that we could use gifts and passion for engineering that God had given us for the service of His Kingdom. Since that time, I have done other projects in Honduras and Guatemala included a water tower, a solar-powered lighting system, a composting toilet system, and 130-foot pedestrian suspended steel cable bridge. I have also traveled to Baja, Mexico and Cap Haitien, Haiti to assist with house construction, medical and food relief, and VBS.
My Family
As of September 2008 I made the transition from being a single man to marrying one of God’s most precious gifts, DeeDee. We currently live in West Nashville but are leaving for the Summer of 2009 to be fully immersed in language school in Antigua, Guatemala. In our spare time, we enjoy backpacking, hiking, road biking and being with family.
